clothes show live

I went to the clothes show live 2010 with my friend at the Birmingham NEC today an amazing experience and well worth going. These are just some of the images of the main show hosted by Gok Wan . The show was styled to ‘A night at the movies’ and included 9 different themes such as;

1. High School musical 
2. United States of America 
3. Western 
4. Fairytale
5. Sci- Fi
6. Gangster
7. Rocky horror
8. Dirty dancing
9. Celebration 

The show lasted 45 minutes and was the perfect thing to kickstart the party season and was a celebration of fashion and included over 40 models and dancers and more than 250 amazing party outfits with beautiful hair and make up looks. 

While we were there we went and had a look at the image catwalk this was a show you could just come and go as you please. We decided to watch the New Look show which lasted around about 30 minutes and was presented by Jeff Brazier and Marvyn Williams. I usually don't really like New Look clothing but there where some really nice pieces for winter wear and party. I especially liked the dresses because they were really girly yet effortless. 

beaufort scale project

As i'm in my second year of the national diploma in art and design we have started a new longer project called BEAUFORT SCALE in which we have to look at a scale of anything but only using 2 techniques. I had an idea to look at a fashion scale from ANOREXIC to OBESE and to show the similarities between them. To start with we had to look at 3 different areas which were graphics,textiles and fashion and research an artist in each area. I looked at Stefan Sagmeister, Laura Ashley and Elsa Schiaparelli.
